Triple Tail Bite
As the weather heats up so do the Triple Tail. Triple Tail are a great fighting fish and love natural patterns like a crab or small bait fish fly presented up current. Its a good way to cool off in the summer. Hunting Triple Tail on plane allows you to get some wind in your face while still being productive. Did you see that one! Lets turn around and gettem! Alot of times you will find several fish at one spot. Here recently I’ve seen up to 20 triple tail at one spot. And yes they are delicious! I practice catch and release 99 percent of the time, but a solid Triple Tail is an exception.
The Aggressive nature of a Triple Tail makes it exciting for the future young anglers. They can see the fish good, watch it come off the structure and crush a fly. Featured below is Madison, with a colorful juvenile Triple Tail. She is a young angler, hungry for the bite on fly. I’ve been working with here for a few years now coaching her into a well rounded angler. She has come along way, and looking forward to the day she sticks her first Red on fly. For right now she is focused on potentially setting the world record Triple Tail on fly. We have certainly been close and have had some heartbreaks, but that’s not stopping her!
